Having served as a social worker in Hong Kong and Canada after obtaining a master degree in social work (1979-1991), Pastor Terence obtained a MDiv degree from Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary and began ministering in the city of Edmonton in the Province of Alberta, Canada. With another Chinese pastor he planted a church there, Evangel Baptist Church, and served as its senior pastor (1995-2011). Competent in Cantonese, Putonghua and English, Pastor Terence has been sought out as a leader and advisor for a number of Christian ministries in Canada before being invited to take up the senior pastor position at the University Baptist Church in Hong Kong (2011-2018). Currently he is retired from full-time ministry, but is serving as an Advisory Pastor of his home church in Edmonton, and continues preaching, teaching, mentoring and offering pastoral care to those in need wherever he and his wife travel.
